Solemnity of the Annunciation

Dearest Sisters, dear sons and daughters of the church and all the friends of our little family,

once again, I celebrate with all of you the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord in communion with our dear Foundress, Maria Oliva Bonaldo of the Mystical Body. Every Annunciation is a happy event that fills us with joy because life is reborn, triumphant and with enthusiasm we exchange wishes for the feast.

It seems almost inappropriate to "be in celebration" today, in the world context we are living. A context of great suffering and fear, of pandemic, hatred and war involving millions of brothers and sisters. Continuously Pope Francis exhorts us to pray for peace because it is the only weapon, we have in our hands to defeat the wickedness of man and to touch the heart of God so that wars cease and weapons are silenced.

My dear friends, I believe that the most beautiful thanksgiving to God for our Family in the Church is to join so many men and women who keep their hands and hearts turned to the Almighty.

Today the Pope consecrates Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. To her, the Virgin Mother who with her voluntary "yes" welcomed into herself the Father's plan and all of us as her children, let us ask for consolation of heart for all women who have lost sons, husbands and fathers in war.
