25th death anniversary of Sr. Silvana Termignone (1993-2018)
The Sisters from India would like to remember and share their experience of living with Sr. Silvana who brought the Charism of Daughters of the Church to India.
When I joined the Convent in 1986, Sr. Silvana was there in India, in the Community of Arunodaya. Thus, I got the chance to live with her for a brief time. I can say that she was a person of prayer and she imparted to me the love for personal prayer. A strict, punctual, disciplined and committed religious, she had a special love for the poor. Her way of training the young minds was so good that she instilled in me/us the values of sincerity, hard work and cleanliness and taught us the hard way, the difficult path of self discipline and focused attention for the Lord and love for the Church. Many girls were not able to withstand her way of training and had to leave the convent, but we who remained learned to face life in its entirety, to take life seriously, responsibly and face even the adverse situations of life with courage and confidence that we cherish those moments with gratitude and love. Though at that time, I did not appreciate her way of formation, I myself have learnt a lot and have personalized some of her training methods. Today I can say that she had a great role in my formation period in the Congregation and I remember her with love and gratitude.
