“Led by Grace: A Journey into God's Call”
Sun, 25 May 25 Daughters of the Church Communities
I am Lucy Mary Bey of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, in Ri-Bhoi district, Meghalaya. I thank our Lord and Master who always cares for me with love and mercy, and through whom I receive abundant blessings. I am also grateful to my parents who have supported me from my childhood until now. They have expressed their love, care, and guidance in every way, giving me both knowledge and support. Even though they do not actively practice the Christian faith, they have always supported me and encouraged me to grow in my Christian life.
When I was 14 years old, my parents enrolled me in the hostel of the MSMHC Sisters. It was during this time that I received the sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion at Nongpoh Parish. While I was studying, many sisters from different congregations visited our home for vocation promotion. Gradually, the thought of joining religious life entered my mind. Over the years, I developed a deeper understanding of the Christian faith, and I was drawn to the holiness of the sisters—their graceful appearance, prayer life, teaching of catechism, and their ministry within the Church.
When I was in Class 10, I made the decision to join the convent, even though I did not know much at the time. I believe God had a plan for me in everything. Around that time, Sr. Nirmala, Sr. Josna, Sr. Thelisha, and Sr. Daiahun came to my house for vocation promotion. They spoke with my parents, who were happy and supportive of my desire to become a nun. This is how I came to know about the Congregation of the Daughters of the Church.
I am especially drawn to the prayer life, which has become the cornerstone of my daily journey. Personal prayer, particularly the time spent in silent reflection before the Eucharistic Lord, has been transformative for me. These moments of silence and intimacy with God help me to recall and renew my purpose, offering my life completely to His will.
Psalm 26:8: “O Lord, I love the house in which You dwell, and the place where Your glory abides.” This verse continues to inspire and strengthen me in my vocation.
I love the charism of the Daughters of the Church, especially the words of our Mother Foundress about the connection between the Eucharistic Body and the Mystical Body of Christ. This reflection has inspired me to embrace the mission of the Church wholeheartedly, dedicating my life to serving God’s people.
