From the West to the East ...
[...]Disturb us, Lord, when
With the abundance of things we possess
We have lost our thirst
For the waters of life;
Having fallen in love with life,
We have ceased to dream of eternity
And in our efforts to build a new earth,
We have allowed our vision
Of the new Heaven to dim. [...] (Attributed to Sir Francis Drake - 1577)
We made a tour of 24 communities of the Italian Delegation with great interest. From the Islands, to the South and to the North The presentation highlighted the great commitment of the sisters, many elderly and few young, but all involved in the service of the Church: in the Eucharistic Centers, in the Spirituality Centres and in Youth Ministry.
In the afternoon, India, with its beauty led us through its diverse realities with many languages, religions and cultures. Even in the midst of so many difficulties, the sisters dedicate themselves to teaching in schools, nursing care, especially the Foster Homes of poor children, orphans and center for HIV/AIDS infected children, promotion of women and the differently abled. In these last two years the care for the destitute who have no shelter are welcomed.
With joy and gratitude we have seen how the great service of the Missionary Office reaches all the realities in which we are present, providing for the most urgent needs.
We are grateful for all this:
"I will bless the Lord at all times;
his praise shall continually be in my mouth"
Tomorrow the reports on the realities in which the laity are involved await us.
