Our Lady of Health

At the beginning of February 2026, at the invitation of the Diocesan Bishop, His Excellency Mgr José Eudes Campos do Nascimento, and the Cathedral Parish Priest, Mgr Geraldo Magela da Silva, we arrived in the city of São João del Rei, in the State of Minas Gerais, to establish a small religious community.

Coming from the State of Bahia, we were deeply impressed by the beauty of the rolling hills and the colonial architecture of the city, which was founded in the 18th century for the exploitation of the famous local mines.

Our pastoral mission will take place in a peripheral area of the city, on a charming hill known as Bom Jesus do Monte, where the parish of the same name is located. Here we are called to serve, according to local needs, the people of the community, who are deeply religious and hold consecrated life in great esteem.

In addition to our parish collaboration, we are also entrusted with the spiritual accompaniment of the staff of the nearby hospital, dedicated to Our Lady of Mercy, and with the ministry of Communion and consolation for the sick and their families.

In this demanding mission, we feel accompanied by Mary, Health of the Sick, and by our Venerable Foundress. We are confident that the charism she entrusted to us will shine as a sign of joy and hope among the People of God.
