Fount of Peace
This is our Spirituality Centre, dedicated to "Mary, Fount of Peace" (Shanthidhara in the local language), opened on 11 June 2002 in a village called Valavayal, in the diocese of Mananthavady with the spiritual support and encouragement of the then Bishop, Mons. Emmanuel Pothanamuzhy. This house is the fruit of the desire and prayer of the Daughters of the Church in India of having a house where we could give expression to our liturgical spirituality.
This Centre is located in Wayanad district of Kerala, which is known popularly as the green paradise, full of plantations and forests. The silence and tranquillity of the Village and a salubrious climate throughout the year provide the atmosphere for self-exploration, spiritual practice and God experience. This Centre also offers possibility for those who wish to conduct spiritually formative courses for the youth and adults as well. The religious and lay people who come here are attracted by the peace and serenity they find in and around the house. The Syro-Malabar Liturgy with its precious traditions and meditative celebrations enrich the people’s faith-life through active participation.
