Mother of Good News
In this great city, the capital of Jharkhand State, two of our Sisters began a modest presence as the "extension" of the Hazaribagh Community. For two years, they taught in Bishop Hartmann School run by the Capuchin Fathers in Aragate, Ranchi.
On 21 November 2012, Cardinal Thelesfore Toppo officially welcomed the Daughters of the Church into the Archdiocese of Ranchi, confirming our educational mission and commitment in vocational youth ministry.
In 2014, our Sisters took charge of the “Lievens School”, Simaliya in Ranchi Diocese. Besides educational ministry, the Sisters render their collaboration in the Parish apostolate. The Marian title attributed to our Community in Ranchi is “Mother of Good News” (Prabodhini in the local language).
