Who we are

Like olive branches around the table of the Lord

“Daughters of the Church” is the name that expresses the identity of every Christian, reborn to new life in Christ in the womb of the Mother Church; for us members of the Institute, it is both our name and our mission, because, redeemed by Jesus, the Son of the Father and under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves entirely to this Mother, making her known and loved, placing ourselves humbly at her service.

The "passion" for the Church of Christ and for humanity has characterized the life of our Foundress, Maria Oliva Bonaldo of the Mystical Body, and still every Daughter of the Church lives this passion by the testimony of a life that is sober, joyful and prayerful and by a simple, familiar fraternity, following the example of the first Christian Community.

Liturgy, the fount and summit of the life of the Church, is the source and characteristic of our spirituality; for us the liturgical celebrations are praise to the Trinity and the extension of the mystery celebrated daily. The Eucharist constitutes the centrality of our being the Daughters of the Church, which nourishes our inner life by the humble and prayerful listening of the Word of God, inspires the fraternal relationships, makes us one body and adorers of Christ who became the Living Bread for all.
