MY grace is sufficient for you (2 Cor. 12: 8)
This was the experience of the four sisters namely Ancy, Celine, Regina and Marykutty who recalled with gratitude the grace that the Lord showered upon them for the past 25 years of their life of service and dedication in the religious family of the Daughters of the Church. The silver jubilee celebration began on the vigil of Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity. The sisters who gathered in the spirituality centre of the Daughters of the Church in India, at Shanthidhara, Valavayal for a week of formative programme, annual retreat gave a colourful program and a summarized power- point presentation on the life and mission of the jubilarians helped us to relive their past life of enthusiasm and youthfulness.
The culminating point of the celebration was the thanksgiving Eucharist presided over by Bishop Emeritus of Mysore Rev. Dr. Bishop Thomas Anthony Vazhapilly on Sunday, May 27that 10.30 a.m. in the beautiful chapel of Shanthidhara Retreat Centre. Following the Eucharistic celebration, the festive atmosphere continued with the taking of photos and sharing of a meal. It was indeed a day when the Daughters of the Church in India with Srs. Ancy, Celine, Marykutty and Regina gave praise and glory to God for the 25 years of journeying in the Lord’s vineyard.
Today as we give thanks with these sisters, we pray for ourselves that we may be faithful to our vocations. We pray for our young people that they may not be frightened of making a commitment in love for life. Though our life may not be easy, if we are generous enough to make that commitment God will never let us down, and we will experience in a wonderful way The Faithfulness of God.
