“Only if our witness is joyful will we attract men and women to Christ”- Pope Francis
Diocese of Bongaigoan organised Sisters Day celebration in honour of the World Day of Consecration. The Sisters gathered together at Bishop’s house who belong to different Congregations, who are rendering their service in the Diocese of Bongaigoan, the celebration began with prayer and reflections. Most Rev. Jose Porunnedam , Bishop of Manandhavadi Diocese, was present for this auspicious day with the Bishop of Bongaigoan Most Rev. Thomas Pulloppillil. Rev. Bishop Jose Porunnedam exhorted in his message that we the Consecrated persons must have the firm conviction of being Loved by God. The centre of our vocation is to be for others a tangible sign of the presence of God’s Kingdom, a foretaste of the eternal joys of heaven. The joy of Christ that we experience is a gift which is nourished by a life of prayer, meditation on the word of God, the celebration of the sacraments and life in community, he explained. “When these are lacking, weaknesses and difficulties will emerge to dampen the joy we knew so well at the beginning of our journey. He also said that we are called to give a joyful witness in the Church by making a difference together. A joyful witness can be possible when we come together. When we are totally committed and dedicated to the mission. Through his message he encouraged us to work together as the true followers of Christ. The day was concluded with few games, through which we shared our joy among one another.
