Fraternal visit

Mar, 16 Ene 18 Hijas de la Iglesia Comunidades

The visit of Sr. Flomy DA Delegate Superior and her Councilor Sr. Annie, was an enriching time to be in the company of the Lord and of one another, to go back to our original spirit, to renew our first love, learning from one another, complementing one another of being aware of our rootedness in Christ to live our consecrated life as Daughters of the Church.

A moment to rekindle in us the spark of our first love, our first encounter with the Lord, blowing off the ashes to shine for Jesus, to love Him, to make Him known and to serve Him in the people entrusted to our care especially the youth who are in search of better options in life. Their visit and stay for a few days was an encouragement for us and helped us in our endeavour to serve the Lord in the face of our brothers and sisters of this land, especially to the youth who are entrusted to our care.  During this week dedicated to prayer for Christian unity, we were able to revive our ecumenical spirit and our openness to the people of other faith, praying and celebrating a special moment of prayer with the youth of other faith. The prayer of Jesus “May they all be one” is in fact lived in spirit and truth here, as we live and work with the people from different denominations and from other religious backgrounds. Our life, service and celebrations like this is a challenge to reach out to others in mutual trust and understanding, and so to build a unity that sees diversity not as a threat, but as a potential source of enrichment and growth and to cultivate an openness of heart that views others as an avenue, not a barrier. We strive towards a promotion of a culture of encounter, a culture of harmony and peace.
