Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9. This word of God has been my constant companion since my young age, when we, three sisters and two brothers lost our parents unexpectedly due to sickness and leaving us alone, but with God as our strength and refuge in one of the remotest villages of Odisha, named Dangeskhal, where I come from. The desire to give my life to the Lord in consecrated life which I had cherished from my young age, inspired by the little stories I heard about the Christian missionaries was faded after the death of my parents. But the constant experience of God’s love and His assurance in the least expected ways, despite my uncertainties and moments of struggles and doubts kept me going and the encouragement I received from my family members especially my elder brother, who took care of me rekindled in me the desire to follow the Lord. The first Daughters of the Church from my village, Srs. Gitanjali and Susanti introduced me to the Daughters of the church in the year 2011. After these years of pruning and growth, the Lord fills my heart with a special love for the Church, which is a typical characteristic of our religious family. And I wish to proclaim with my life of consecration in the family of the Daughters of the Church that, it is good to belong to the Lord for He is the One who will stand by our side at all times and one thing I am certain even in my uncertainties is that the Lord who called me is faithful, and he gives me the grace to offer myself to Him.
