International Children’s Rights day was established in 1989 by the United Nations General Assembly recognizing the civil, economic, social and cultural rights of all children.Children must be protected from all forms of discrimination and violence. In India, it is celebrated on 14 November, the birthday of the first Prime Minister, Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru who always showed great love and attention to all children. He was fondly called “Chacha Nehru”. In all schools and institutes Children’s day is celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm. Children are surrounded with affection, attention and gifts. Even our communities are busy making this day the best, the most beautiful and memorable for the children who attend our schools and those who live with us.
