Formators Meeting

Formazione Aurora Valde Rutilans (Arunodaya) - Bangalore - India

Formation cannot but be unique, contemplative- apostolic, because such is the nature of our Mother Church”. Ven. Maria Oliva Bonaldo

1st November 2020, Solemnity of all Saints was marked by the formators meeting of the Daughters of the church in India.  The theme of the meeting Discerning Covid-19 as Kairos in Chronos was introduced by the Delegate Superior Sr. Gracy G.

Sr. Alice SFA shared the importance of working on conscience formation, for a well-formed conscience is upright and truthful that formulates its judgments according to reason, in conformity with the true good willed by the wisdom of the Creator.

Sr. Mini NSPS presented the paper on the formation of the Generation Z, that is characterized by a wide spread use of the internet and social media. Though they are open to the different cultures, to relationships and are enthusiastic and curious to know the realities of the world they are easily prone to isolation and are slow in taking responsibilities. Pope Francis and many leading minds in Catholic youth ministry constantly rely on the language of “accompaniment” and “encounter.”  Therefore, it is the responsibility of the formator to accompany the youth in their journey during the formation and help them to encounter oneself and God as the centre of their life. Formators, who have the challenging task of training the youth, should be conscious that their responsibility extends also to the moral, spiritual and social aspects of life, emphasized Sr. Mini in her session stressing the Human, Christian and Charismatic dimensions connected with the formation of the Generation Z.

The formators had the privilege of having Rev. Sr. Theresa GSR the Superior General from Rome online platform to enlighten the formators with the discourse from Gaudete et Exultate exhorting the formators to focus on being signs of holiness in today’s world.

After having shared their experience in the formation, the meeting of the Formators concluded with an open forum and sharing of ideas on the renewal of the General Formation Plan
