June 21st was proclaimed as International Yoga Day by the United Nations on December 11, 2014. Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual practice which originated in India. It is an invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition. It embodies unity of mind, body, thought and action, restraint and fulfilment, harmony between man as well as nature, a holistic approach to health and well-being. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with oneself, the world and nature. The International yoga day was celebrated in Sir. M.V. stadium Mandya at 7.00 am , 27 of our children from Snehalaya participated in it. There were around 2,000 participants from different schools and NGOs. It is a memorable day for us and the children themselves. Indeed we are thankful to Mr. Chandru the yoga trainer of our children who trains them with care. We appreciate and congratulate our children for their enthusiasm and interest.
