We the sisters the Daughters of the Church in India glad to share our joyful moments along with two major events we celebrated on the 15th of August 2021. One is the feast of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the other is the Independence Day of our country. On this significant day, our four candidates, Agnes Pradhan, Dayahun Matlai Pratima Kunjur, Thelisha Klein, entered into Postulancy after having the experience over a certain period in our religious Communities and knowing the members of our religious family, knowing oneself and each other, the life of prayer, the community life, and the spirit of our religious family they discerned their vocation and have freely expressed their desire to continue their formation in our religious Congregation hence they have taken their first step of initial formation. Religious formation is a gradual process and has various stages. A person passes through each stage, accomplished over a certain time, according to one’s development and the continuing process of discernment. The formation is meant to fan the flame of our hearts to make it burn brightly for God and to help transform us from an individual alone into a Community of love on fire with God himself. Today these four young girls have come forward to experience God’s love and to grow in the life of the Spirit, in faith, hope and charity through seeking God in Community, to follow Christ and to strive in the constant conversion of the heart, through the footsteps of our Foundress Mother Maria Oliva Bonaldo. The celebration of the entry to the Postulancy was held in the Community of Mathru Jyothi at Mandya in a joyful and solemn atmosphere, accompanied by the Delegate Superior Sr. Gracy and the counselors Srs. Shysamma and Jolly, Sisters of the Community and the Sisters from Bangalore. The celebration started with a procession from the grotto of our Lady and the candidates who were having a lighted lamp decorated with flowers, in their hands as a symbol of their lives, offered to God a burning lamp. During the celebration, the Delegate Superior spoke to the candidates about the importance and significance of the religious life and the Spirit of our religious family and encouraged them to grow every day discerning their vocation listening to the voice of God. Together with this celebration, we also joined our children of Snehalaya to Celebrate the 75th Independence Day of our Motherland India. We participated in hoisting the Flag and a small culture program animated by the children who came out with different programs to show their abilities and talents. We were happy to have on this occasion the presence of our Sisters Reesa, Sherly, Shanty and Valsa who have completed their 27 years of religious profession and had an opportunity to meet each other and share their joys and experiences with little children and the Sisters. Let us thank God and our Blessed Mother for blessing our religious family to grow in number and inspiring us to live in the spirit of faith and hope.
